What Is A Content Strategy And Why Do I Need it?

Content creation is way important to finding your way in to your audience you are trying to reach. On our last blog we talked all about narrowing down what platforms you use to access your audience. However, once you know what platform you are going to use, what do you post and do to engage that audience? This is what a content strategy is all about: creating relevant content to engage your audience so that they are encouraged to buy your brand or sign up for your event and share with others your greatness.

A content strategy is like the Athleisure trend today: everyone has one and it isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. It’s time to slap on those Fabletics Joggers and get to creating your content strategy masterpiece (or let us do it for you). There are many reasons why you need a content strategy but these are our top 3.

  1. Brand awareness and cohesiveness. Repetition. Repetition. Repetition. Your content strategy will build a stronger brand identity. When people know your brand, it will make them more likely to engage and feel like the product you are trying to sell or event you want people to attend is more legitimate and trustworthy. Moreover, a CS creates cohesiveness on your platforms so that you are not having to create new content pieces for every platform you use.

  2. Streamline your marketing efforts. Time is money and creating content constantly can be a time sucker if you do not have guidelines in place for what to make. Having a strategy allows you to save time so that you can focus on other important areas of your business or brand.

  3. Money saver. Content marketing SAVES you money. An original content strategy helps drive conversions, engagements, shares, and ultimately will make you more money over the long run than traditional forms of advertising that COST you money.

Okay, so you’re sold on the idea that you need a content strategy, but now what? Whether you type out a formal document or use that napkin in the bottom of your car console next to that day old french fry, begin by thinking through these questions:

  • Who am I trying to reach and what are my goals? (Get specific here: how old, what hobbies, what gender, what income bracket, where?)

  • What can I share with my audience to increase brand awareness and trust? (tutorials on a specific thing, tips, takeovers, get-to-know’s)

  • How can I curate this content? (will my audience help me, reels, IGTV’s, blogs, videos, stories, challenges…..I mean the list really does go on. This is the fun part. GET CREATIVE!)

Yes, we know this sounds like a whole lot, but that’s what we are here for. Let us create a content strategy for you today so you can get content creating tomorrow.

With Love,
